Matthan, Ph.D., was a speaker at the International Latex Conference session on August 9th where he shared recent advances in formulations of Vytex® Ultra-Low Protein and Non-Rubber Latices (ULP-NRSL) that will allow for affordable, broader range end use applications with reduced risk of causing or triggering latex allergies.
Dr. Matthan’s presentation, “The Development and Applications of Sustainable Ultra-low Protein Non-rubber Solids,” addressed how new formulations, including nitrosamine free Vytex latex and their formulations, also can meet the demand for more sustainable production and grades of natural rubber and safer work environments for products such as foam pillows, packaging, adhesives, toys, balloons and medical devices. The treatments can be integrated into the normal processing procedures, allowing producers all the advantages at nominal cost. Two new solid dry rubber grades (GP and UP) Vytex DPNR-NE are being field tested in tire and non-tire applications.
